C.V. Introduction
I am an experienced professional photographer and writer. As a photo-based Fine artist, I have participated in numerous solo and group exhibits. Several of the media reviews and corresponding exhibits are listed on the web CV. In 1996 I received my MFA from York University, where I studied semiotics and theoretical issues in contemporary art. My personal interests include fine printing (fiber) for exhibitions, hand-colouring, non-silver techniques, web-based exhibits, blogs and digital montage.
My commercial photography assignments have been primarily concentrated in the area of photo-journalism. Where the situation requires, I use either digital and traditional formats- 35mm, medium and large format (4" by 5") cameras, and work equally well with natural or artificial light sources. My studio is equipped with a strobe unit, B&W darkroom and digital facilities. I compose digital illustrations and web-based/ multi-media works using scanners, Photoshop, Illustrator, Go-live, animation programs and HTML hand coding. My websites are designed to download quickly and efficiently on all platforms. I also design and photograph CDs/ book covers and promotional materials. In film and video, I have worked on independent productions in the capacity of director, set photographer, camera operator, actor and screenwriter.I have volunteered my services as a photographer and speaker, in addition to donating works of art, to benefit such causes as Aids hospices, homeless shelters, Hep C awareness foundations, Medecins Sans Frontieres, Native legal defense funds, educational facilities, non-profit arts organizations / publications and agencies which provide humanitarian aid for the Third World.
