Crazy Pierre Held Up!
Dawson City, Yukon

©Linda Dawn Hammond 1981

"Crazy Pierre" was given his name, I believe, only because he's crazy to to walk around town with gold nuggets worth over $19,000 sewn into his hat! But then again, a strict code of honour was in effect in the Yukon, (at least regarding some matters!), a code unlikely to have existed during the Goldrush days!
